How to Add a Clickable Link in a Canva PDF
Add links to text, buttons and images in Canva and make sure they still work after you download.
Add the link in Canva
- Select the text, shape or image you want to make clickable.
- Click the link icon in the top toolbar (or press Ctrl/Cmd + K).
- Paste the full web address, including https://, and press Enter.
Download the right file type
Choose Share → Download → PDF Standard or PDF Print. Both keep links. Avoid flattening the PDF or downloading as an image, which removes every link.
Why links sometimes stop working
- The link was added to an element that's grouped under another layer.
- The PDF was flattened or printed to PDF afterwards.
- The viewer (some email previews) doesn't support links — open it in a browser to check.
Make links easy to find
Readers won't hover around looking for hidden links. Underline text links, use button shapes for calls to action, and keep a consistent colour for anything clickable.
Share it the smart way with Zip Link
Once your PDF is ready, upload it to zip-link.com to turn it into a page-flipping book with its own link, QR code and embed code. You can see who opened it, how long they read and which pages held their attention — and capture leads before they reach the end.
