How to Convert HTML to PDF: Save a Web Page as a PDF

Save any web page as a clean PDF on desktop or phone, plus tips to remove clutter.

On a computer (any browser)

  • Open the page and press Ctrl + P (Cmd + P on Mac).
  • Set the destination to "Save as PDF".
  • Under More settings, turn on Background graphics if you want colours and images.
  • Click Save.

On iPhone or Android

Tap Share → Print (iPhone) or the three-dot menu → Share → Print (Android Chrome). Pinch out on the preview on iPhone to open it as a PDF, then save it to Files.

Getting a cleaner result

  • Use the browser's reader mode first to strip ads and menus.
  • Switch to landscape for wide tables.
  • Set margins to Minimum to fit more on each page.

For developers

If you need to generate PDFs automatically from HTML, headless browser tools render the page exactly as Chrome does. Keep print styles (@media print) in your CSS so the output looks deliberate.

Share it the smart way with Zip Link

Once your PDF is ready, upload it to zip-link.com to turn it into a page-flipping book with its own link, QR code and embed code. You can see who opened it, how long they read and which pages held their attention — and capture leads before they reach the end.
