How to Create an Ebook: Plan, Write, Format, Publish
A practical four-stage process for turning your expertise into a finished, shareable ebook.
1. Plan
Pick one reader and one problem. Write the promise of the book in a single sentence, then outline 5–10 chapters that each move the reader one step closer to that promise.
2. Write
Draft fast and edit later. Aim for short chapters, plenty of headings, and a real example in every section. Readers skim — help them.
3. Format
- Design a cover that reads at thumbnail size.
- Use one or two fonts and generous spacing.
- Add a table of contents with clickable links.
- Export as PDF for sharing, and EPUB if you plan to sell on ebook stores.
4. Publish and promote
Share it as a lead magnet on your website, sell it, or send it to customers. A flipbook link makes it feel premium and lets you see how far people actually read.
Share it the smart way with Zip Link
Once your PDF is ready, upload it to zip-link.com to turn it into a page-flipping book with its own link, QR code and embed code. You can see who opened it, how long they read and which pages held their attention — and capture leads before they reach the end.
